There are many ways you can support your Harrison County Libraries.
Our newest option for anyone wishing to support the system as a whole is the Friends of the Harrison County Library System fund housed at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
This fund was established in 2021 with initial support from our Friends of the Library branch groups. The goal of this fund is to create long-term support for system-wide needs. It will strengthen the Harrison County Library System by providing support for programming and special projects and by increasing the library’s ability to provide lifelong learning opportunities of all kinds for library patrons.
Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law, and the Fund is an ideal choice if you are looking to support the library in your estate planning.
For information on the Fund, please contact the Library Director, Sarah Crisler-Ruskey at s.ruskey@harrison.lib.ms.us or 228.539.0110.
You can also support your local branch by joining the Friends of the Library. Each city has a group that organizes fundraising activities and programs. Contact your local branch for information on how to join.
We also welcome donations of books in good condition. We add needed titles to our shelves, and remaining items go to the Friends groups for their book sales. These on-going sales and special sale events are the primary funding source for our Friends groups. Please contact your branch library to plan your drop-off.
