Position: Woolmarket Branch Manager
Location: Woolmarket Public Library, 13034 Kayleigh Cove, Biloxi, MS 39532
Available: June 1, 2022 until filled

The Woolmarket Branch Manager is responsible to the Biloxi Head Librarian for the administration of the branch library within the system.

Primary Duties:
• Selects, supervises, trains, and evaluates branch staff
• Ensures excellent service to patrons and maintains an atmosphere conducive to serving patron needs
• Responsible for programming to enhance library services
• Maintains supplies needed for operation of branch
• Prepares and submits cash report to Headquarters
• Prepares and submits monthly service statistics

Requirements: ALA accredited MLIS degree or Bachelor’s degree with appropriate experience, two years of professional library experience, knowledge of library technology, thorough knowledge of public library philosophy, strong commitment to public service, supervisory skills.

Hours: 40 hours per week, including some nights and Saturdays.

Minimum Salary: $15.00 per hour

Position: Mobile Outreach Librarian
Available: June 1, 2022

The Mobile Outreach Librarian is responsible to the Director for planning and implementing the Mobile Outreach project, coordinating with CTA for this project, working with Youth and Services Librarians, and for promoting the services in the community.

Primary duties:

  • Works with Administration, Youth Services, and Services Librarians to identify target groups for digital outreach  
  • Works with Administration, Youth Services, and Services Librarians to develop, publicize, and implement outreach activities for target groups, depending on identified needs
  • Works with CTA staff to implement, publicize, and manage in-vehicle hotspot program
  • Develops digital collection housed at CTA transit hub
  • Tracks and reports usage statistics from programming, materials, and Wi-Fi use
  • Works with Administration to evaluate and adjust program as needed, based on continual data collection and analysis
  • Works with Administration to deploy programming and hotspots as needed in crisis or disaster situation
  • Markets outreach and hotspot program in the community
  • Drives mobile outreach vehicle and apprises Administration of any maintenance needs

Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; Two years college preferred; Two years relevant experience preferred; familiarity with computer applications and technology essential. Must have good customer service skills. Excellent driving record and valid MS license required.

Hours: 40 hours per week, including some nights and Saturdays

Minimum Salary: $12.00 per hour
